SAMBO Class 6

Class 6 saw the return of Mark to SAMBO, but Matthew feigning injury :) Just joking Matt!

Anyway, started to work the group at flowing or linking attacks together. It went along the path of:
Hip Throw followed by MIH by Round Throw by Open Guard. Pics here would probably be useful, but I can picture it :)

Basically, getting the concept that techniques frequently won't work, so must be thrown in combination until one does. One member of the group remarked they preferred this approach compared to saying "trust me it WILL work".

Anyway, Class 8 in 3 weeks time.

SAMBO class 5

Class 5 of SAMBO at Karate club. This time we started from the ground instead of standup, to allow more time with the SAMBO guard and the passing of this Guard.

We completed looking at standard scarf hold with a flow into Achilles crush via chest lock. And to finish reviewed head lock hip throws.

The class got some positional sparring done, and clear improvements are being made by all.

Back training with Birmingham Karate group

This is our first post. The club has started informally training again, with regular seminars at a local Karate group found by Matthew. The group are new to grappling, and thus far have done four classes and picking things up fairly quick.

Next session will be September 1st.
